Phra Katha Tam KamLang Wan Gerd – Incantation to Reverse Ill Destiny

Phra Katha Tam KamLang Wan Gerd – Incantation to Reverse Ill Destiny

Phra Katha Tam KamLang Wan Gerd

describes katha that are recited to enhance or support your destiny, in accordance with the day of the week on which you were born. There are many variants of this katha, that differ across the many schools of Wicha (refer to our article on Ittipiso Paed Tid
). Translated to English, the words mean Tam
(follow) KamLang
(power) Wan (day) Gerd
(born).

Phra Katha Maha Jakkapat

(refer to Katha No.9 below), is used for this purpose. The set of katha described here belongs to Luang Pu Doo
of Wat Sakae
. This katha improves your quality of life, increase your boon and enhances your level of spiritual cultivation (e.g. through the practice of meditation).

Reciting the katha for the deceased, improves their conditions in the afterlife. To maximize the effect, an individual should have accumulated enough merit (through making donations especially to the monks, doing Vipassana meditation, etc.), and have a deep, meaningful connection to the deceased. The katha below should be recited in order, and dedicated specifically to the deceased individual.

Preparation

It is important to recite the following katha to pay homage and invite the blessings of the Buddha, Dhamma, Sangha, the Teachers (Luang Pu Thuad

, Luang Pu Doo
and Luang Ta Maa
), and the Devas
before proceeding to chant the birthdate-appropriate katha. Your recitation will then be backed by the Baramee of the holy ones, rendering is especially powerful and auspicious.
